What is a Master Planned Community?
“Because of poor municipal planning, most new residential subdivisions today do not offer a true sense of community.
They do not tie together the homes, businesses, schools, amenities and health/wellness services in a way that creates synergy for the community and its residents, or a stronger perceived value or sense of belonging.
A master-planned community provides an opportunity for a large tract of land to be planned comprehensively and implemented in logical stages. Development of master-planned communities typically occurs on greenfields,’ that is, tracts of formerly undeveloped land often at or beyond urban fringes”.

We believe this extract from the book ‘Trends and Innovations in Master-Planned Communities’ published in 1998 by the Urban Land Institute perfectly describes the village of Whitby in Porirua, Wellington. You should consider moving to Whitby so that your family can enjoy the lifestyle benefits of our terrific community.
