When WCEL purchased the remaining land holdings from the Consortium in 1996, part of the assets included the Whitby Golf Course, later renamed the Duck Creek.

For years the golf course steadily lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the club went broke twice. The land had been given a residential development zoning in 1984, so  a decision was finally made a few years ago to close the course and develop it into sections.

Four years ago the first sctions were developed and more that 20 homes have already been built on what was originally the 9th and 16th holes. Flotilla Place is the latest stage to be built, and we plan to build 60 more lots on this beautiful land within the next 3 years.
