Introducing Duck Creek ........ a beautiful stream flowing through the heart of Whitby, Porirua City
This series of photos highlight the beautiful land that we will progressively develop into residential housing over the next decade. For 30 years this land was used as the Duck Creek Golf Course, but declining membership and financial losses contributed to the decision to close the course.
LOOKING SOUTH FROM DUCK CREEK NORTH 100 metres from the location of this photo, Duck Creek flows through the Department of Conservation's Duck Creek Reserve, a pristine salt marsh before it enters the Pauatahanui Inlet. Shoal Place, a cul-de-sac that is almost sold out is located 30 metres to the photographer's left, accessed by a small bridge built over James Cook Creek, a tributary of Duck Creek. This will be built through the balance of 2011. Observatory Hill reserve is on the right. LOOKING NORTH FROM DCN From almost the same location, this photo shows where the garden areas of Lots 21 and 22 in Shoal Place finish at the bank of Duck Creek. Once the main bridge access from James Cook Drive is built over Duck Creek (just past the trees) the area on the left will be gifted as a reserve to Porirua City Council and a walkway will be built along this part of Duck Creek. LOOKING EAST FROM THE WEST OF DUCK CREEK NORTH This photograph was taken from proposed Lot 78 in Duck Creek North. It is an elevated, sunny site and will be released for sale around 2013. Note the terrific views and the beautiful land below it. Duck Creek North will become an outstanding location for 90 new homesites, many of them oversized sections perfect for building your new family home on. A VIEW SOUTH FROM THE MIDDLE OF DUCK CREEK NORTH This photograph was taken from Stage 6 of Duck Creek South. This was the green of for the 6th hole which was known as the 'Long Drop'. Note the beautiful land between this site and Adventure Park to the north. We think its central location and wonderful aspect will be attractive to many residents looking for a great location to build their new home on.
